Excellent location and ski facilities make Okushiga Kogen Hotel a great choice for skiing enthusiasts, especially with easy access to the Hakuba valley. You can literally ski in and out, plus enjoy the onsen after a long day on the slopes! If you’re not into nightlife or looking for numerous restaurants nearby, this place is perfect! It’s close to the Okushiga lifts and runs, and there’s a shuttle bus that makes it easy to explore other mountains too. The hotel has a charming vibe despite its age, and the staff are incredibly friendly. The convenience of having a rental shop right at the hotel can’t be overstated—renting skis, boots, and clothing was super easy! Plus, having an instructor meet us at the hotel made our experience even better. The breakfast buffet offers delicious western options that we really enjoyed. I had my first stay here recently and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable everything was. Even arriving early for check-in wasn’t an issue thanks to their helpful staff. I loved the quiet atmosphere which made for a relaxing night. The drive to get there might take about 45 minutes from the nearest town, but it’s worth it!
