I was really impressed with the little touches at Kobe Motomachi Tokyu REI Hotel. *The frozen hand towel at check-in was such a nice surprise!* The room was spotless, and I loved how the shower had great water pressure and options for overhead and side sprays.
During my stay, I did notice a few things that could be improved. *There wasn’t much space to store luggage or hang towels,* which could be inconvenient. Also, *the lack of bedside lighting made it tricky to read in bed,* and the refrigerator didn’t cool drinks as well as I’d hoped.
The automatic toilet seat opening and closing while you move around can be a bit annoying, especially during your morning routine. Plus, the air conditioning blew right on me while sleeping—definitely took some adjusting!
Overall, despite those minor issues, I enjoyed my time there and would consider returning! The location is fantastic—*just 10 seconds from Chinatown,* making it super safe for late-night dining adventures. There’s even a convenience store nearby which is always a plus!
If you’re planning to stay here, do check if your room has a bathtub since mine only had a shower. The front desk being on the second floor might seem odd but doesn’t affect access to your room.
I visited Kobe while exploring the Kansai region for an expo; it’s just a quick walk from Motomachi Station to this hotel. *Free delicious water available in the lobby is definitely a bonus!* Just keep in mind that there are no escalators at the station—I had to lug my suitcase up some stairs!
This place was hands down one of my favorites in Japan! Great location near food and attractions—*it’s close enough to walk to the harbor area.* The staff were friendly, and for Japanese standards, my room felt spacious with an amazing shower experience.
I’ve stayed here multiple times because of its prime location next to Nankinmachi (Chinatown). It’s convenient for walking around and enjoying local events. *The breakfast buffet was delightful,* especially their tuna dashi chazuke! The semi-double bed was also quite comfortable for solo travelers like me.
